Consultation on All Saints CE Federation Admission Arrangements for September 2023

Following the publication of the new School Admissions Code 2021 , The governing body of All Saints CE Federation are currently consulting on the school admissions policy for September 2023. The admissions policy has been adapted to ensure we are fully compliant with the new School Admissions Code (2021) and there have been no changes to the school’s oversubscription criteria.

The consultation period will run from 29^th November 2021 until 7^th January 2022. During this time, individuals and organisations are invited to express their views and any concerns about the proposed admissions policy for All Saints CE Federation.

Pdf copies of the proposed Admissions Policy for the 2023/24 academic year are available to download from our Admissions page under Key Information.

If you require a hard copy, please contact the school office on 01629 582913 (Infants: Option 1/ Juniors Option 2).

In accordance with statutory DfE guidance, the consultation will run for at least six weeks and, as an interested party at All Saints CE Federation, we are keen to hear your views; therefore, we invite you to participate in the consultation if you have any concerns regarding the matter.

All responses to the consultation should be made in writing and submitted before 12 noon on Friday 7th January 2022 to: Admissionsconsultation@ddat.org.uk.

Please note that all responses need to include your school’s name and should outline your personal details, including your name, address and relationship to the school.

At the end of the consultation period, the governing body will meet to consider responses. The outcome of the consultation will be published on the All Saints CE Federation website as soon as possible following a decision being reached by the Local Governing Body. Hard copies of the final report will be made available on request to all respondents of the consultation.

Update regarding covid and safe access into school tomorrow

Dear parents,

I hope this message finds you safe, well and warm.

Apologies for the message over the weekend but I thought it would be helpful to share today rather than wait until tomorrow.

Covid update

We have just received updated guidance from the Dfe who have updated their guidance following the Prime Minister’s announcement of new, temporary measures. We will be updating our risk assessment tomorrow but please be aware that from tomorrow:

Face coverings should be worn in communal areas in all settings by staff, visitors … unless they are exempt.

Therefore, please bring a face covering in the event that you need to enter either school’s reception and/or office space.

Snow and untreated surfaces

Staff at both schools will be busy tomorrow morning, clearing and gritting pathways so that we all have safe access to either school.

Please can you read the information below so you are aware of the clear and treated entrances:

Junior school: all children and staff should access the school via the top pedestrian gate. Children will access their classrooms (including the terrapins) via the front doors/side entrance to the bottom corridor.
Junior school: Please note the driveway entrance will be closed as the driveway is steep and may be unsafe.
Junior school: The Morledge gate will be open but extra care will need to be taken if you choose to use this as the pathways will be untreated.
Year 6: Unfortunately, Bikeability is cancelled tomorrow so please don't bring your bike. We will be in contact tomorrow with an update once we've heard further from our trainers.

Infant school: all children and staff should access the school via the top gate, straight onto the top playground. Staff will be on hand in the event that help is required on the treated steps down to the teaching block.
Infant school: our staff will be on hand to welcome the children. Our Early Years staff will take the children to the classroom via the internal flight of steps.
Infant school: Please note the driveway gate will not be open.

Our latest newsletter includes:

COVID update: please continue to use the covid@allsaintsfed.derbyshire.sch.uk e-mail address if you have any concerns or would like to inform us of an absence.
Dates! We've lots of exciting opportuntities planned for our children including Christmas discos and dates for all of our planned Christmas celebrations. We have included dates for the Autumn term and also shared a new date for the Queen's Jubilee holiday. Please remember that you can find dates for the whole year online.
Parents' workshop: this month our monthly workshop for parents is focusing on how we can support healthy friendships. Please can I draw parents' attention to the online safety workshop on the 18th January 2022?
Nursery survey: we're looking forward to the building work starting in the spare teaching block at our Infant school. We're wondering whether these facilities could be used during the school day to run a teacher led nursery for children aged 3 – 4 years. We have no plans in place for this currently, but it would be useful to see if there would be interest in us exploring the possibility of establishing a teacher led nursery at All Saints’. Governors: our recent recruitment has resulted in our school welcoming not one but three new governors.
Online safety: we've included top tips from the National Online Safety Centre (see attached).
Admissions: Derbyshire admissions has opened for applications for children to join our Reception classes and for children moving to Year 3. Please can parents of children in Year 2 look out for some further dates this term. We'd like to our Year 2 parents to All Saints' CE Junior before Christmas so you can visit our school.

Ofsted report for our Junior school

We're delighted to share the inspection report from our recent Ofsted inspection of All Saints' CE Junior school. We're delighted that Ofsted continue to recognise that our Junior school, like our Infant school, continues to be a good school.

It's lovely to see the hard work and care of the staff recognised and celebrated. Their hard work helps to ensure that the children 'are happy and enjoy learning'.

Our first newsletter for this year includes:

Information on how you can keep up todate with events and news from within school. Please sign up for our year group blogs or find our schools on Facebook.
Parent governor: we're looking for a new parent governor and would welcome nominations. Please see the attached letter.
Volunteers: children and staff benefit greatly from having volunteers in school. We offer a full induction and training for those who are interested and able to commit to support regularly . If you are interested then please complete this form: CLICK HERE.
Parents' Forum: we'd like to invite parents to our Parents' Forum so that we can further improve our schools.
Dates! We've lots of exciting opportuntities planned for our children, ranging from trips to the theatre, a residential and weekly whole class music tuition. We have included dates for the Autumn term. Please remember that you can find dates for the whole year online.
Parents' workshops: we've planned a series of monthly workshops for parents. Over the year we will be running workshops on a range of areas including: supporting oracy and early language, reading, healthy friendships and online safety. You can find dates for the Autumn term attached. Please can I draw parents' attention to the online safety workshop on the 18th January 2022? This will be useful as I suspect the children will have lots of new technology for Christmas!
Online safety: we've included top tips for the new year as we help our children stay safe online.

Finally, after the success of our Tea and Tissues for our parents in Early Years, we would like to run a second coffee morning for parents of children in Year 3. Mrs. Lee and I hope to see you, after morning drop off, next Monday (the 13th) in the Junior school hall from 9:00 a.m..

Starting the new academic year

The staff and I are very much looking forward to welcoming the children back to All Saints’ CE Infant and Junior schools next Monday, 6th September. Both schools have been busy places during the summer break and we're looking forward to sharing the improvements which have been made.

We have shared a letter with parents today containing information regarding our arrangements for opening. Much of the information was shared prior to the summer break but we hope that that our first letter of the new school year will be a useful reminder.

We have also included some additional Q&As regarding COVID/self-isolation arrangements based upon the latest guidance shared with schools. I hope that the information within our letter will answer any questions which you may have ahead of school starting next Monday.

This is our final newsletter for the academic year as both schools close for children at the end of the day (tomorrow is our final INSET day).

Transition arrangements

On Friday, the 2nd July, our children will be visiting their new classrooms and working with their new teacher for the morning. All classrooms will be thoroughly cleaned and well ventilated and all equipment will be changed to ensure that our children and staff are safe when working and learning in their new classrooms.
