  Miss. Bridges has been busy working with some of the children in Year 2 as she works towards her Forest Schools Leader assessment in September. • Early Years welcome meeting

  Miss. Ferguson and I are looking forward to welcoming parents to All Saints' this afternoon for our Early Years welcome meeting.

   

  During the meeting we will explain starting arrangements for September and also explain how our Early Years curriculum helps our children to settle quickly and flourish.

   

  Please note that we have lots of information available on website (www.allsaintsfed.derbyshire.sch.uk/) including:

   

  • The presentation which we will run through this afternoon;
  • Derbyshire's '10 steps for school readiness' information;
  • Information on reading with your child;
  • Supportive information about the teaching of phonics;
  • A link to our Early Years blog where you can see what our children have been up to all year.

   

  We look forward to welcoming parents to the Infant school site for a 2:30 p.m. start. Please make your way to the front entrance where you will be shown into our school hall.

• Parents' Forum

  Good afternoon,

   

  Many thanks to the parents who joined Mrs. Lee and I yesterday for our two Parents' Forums meetings.

   

  We spent the time considering and reviewing:

  • a new approach to homework (from September);
  • report cards;
  • relationship and sex education.

   

  You can find further information in the notes. You can also find all of the notes from our previous meetings on the All Saints' website.

   

  Our next meeting will take place early in the new academic year. I would like to thank the parents who have contributed, as we work together to further improve All Saints' for our children.

• Improving our school grounds

  Children in Year 6 have been busy fundraising to buy plants to improve the reception area at the front of the Junior school.

   

  After raising funds, they then organised a visit to a local garden centre where they bought a range of plants. These are now planted and bedding in
