Harvest

What Harvest Means in Our School

At this time of year, we celebrate Harvest—a special moment to reflect on the changing seasons and the importance of gratitude, sharing, and community.

In school, Harvest is more than just learning about farming and food. It’s a chance for children to:

  • Give thanks for the food we have and the people who help produce it.
  • Learn about helping others, especially those who may be struggling.
  • Take part in collections for local food banks or charities.
  • Explore nature and the seasons through stories, songs, and creative activities.
  • Celebrate together with Worship, displays, and our Harvest Festival.

We encourage families to talk about Harvest at home—what it means to be thankful, how we can share with others, and the beauty of the world around us.

A Harvest Prayer for Children and Families

Dear God,

Thank You for the sunshine and the rain,
for seeds that grow into food,
and for all the people who help bring it to our tables.

Thank You for apples, pumpkins, and warm bread,
for sharing, caring, and helping others.
Please bless those who don’t have enough,
and help us to be kind and generous.

May we always remember to say thank you—
for the earth, for each other, and for Your love.

Amen.
