  • Supporting reading: workshops for our parents and volunteers

    We are pleased to be able to offer some informal workshops for parents and our volunteers to support reading.

     

    • Phonics and supporting early reading workshop for parents: Wednesday 25th September at the Infant school. 2:30 p.m. until 3 p.m.
    • Supporting reading fluency and comprehension: Wednesday 25th September at the Junior school. 6:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

     

    The first workshop will be led by Mrs. Lee, our reading leader, and Mrs. Lloyd, our phonics leader.

     

    Volunteers

     

    We hope to see as many parents as possible at the workshops and will ensure all materials are made available on our website and via ParentMail.

  • Forest Schools 🌳

    Our Forest Schools programme started this afternoon. 

     

    Children in Year 5, from Mr. Abbott’s class, spent the afternoon outside, working with each other.

     

    During the afternoon they used natural resources to build houses before safely boiling water to make hot chocolate.

    Our latest newsletter is now available on the All Saints' website and has been sent to all parents via ParentMail.

     

    The September newsletter includes:

    • A copy of new Annual Planner;
    • Exciting information about our new school libraries;
    • News that Forest Schools is starting next week in Year 5;
    • News that we now have a Pastoral Leader and a Family Support Manager to provide positive support for our children and families;
    • Information following our 'Meet the Teacher' sessions;
    • A polite reminder on parking and travelling to school safely.

  • Annual planner for parents

    You can find a copy of our annual school planner for the year online. This detailed calendar shows lots of events, including all our term dates and all of our INSET days.

     

    There is lots to look forward to, including:

     

    • Planned family workshops for phonics, reading and for maths.
    • Planned trips to the theatre for children in Reception and Year 1
    • Planned trip to Newstead Abbey for children in Year 2
    • Planned trips to Nottingham Playhouse for children in Years 3, 4 and 5
    • Planned residential for our children in Year 6 in November
    • A joint sports day/family picnic at the end of May to also celebrate All Saints’ 145th anniversary.

     

    You can also find details of all our church services and performances, as well as dates for Parents’ Evenings and Parent Forums.

  • Welcome back! Meet the Teacher sessions

    Our welcome letter includes:

     

    • Details of our scheduled 'Meet the Teacher' workshops;
    • Exciting news about our new 'Enrichment Passports' for all of our children.
